Our Team
Mike started Kilmer & Associates, CPA, P.C. in 1998 and understands the challenges of operating a business. He uses this real life experience to assist clients with the opportunities and challenges that they face. In addition to possessing the expertise and technical skills required by the profession, he takes time to listen to clients concerns and communicates with straight talk in an understandable way. By combining technical expertise and real life experiences, Mike is able to assist clients with solving their problems and comply with regulatory requirements.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Shepherd University in 1987 and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 1989. He is a member of Fellowship Bible Church, Winchester Kiwanis Club and has served as board members on various not-for-profit organizations. Professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysis (NACVA). Outside of work Mike enjoys the coaching soccer, hiking, working in the yard, reading and spending time with his wife, Cathie and their children: Megan, Matthew and Madison.

Mike earned his Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) in 2004 from West Virginia University as well a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation. As a Certified Public Accountant, he has vast experience with many different areas of audit and tax.
Besides having the technical knowledge and expertise in the tax preparation aspect of accounting, he takes a team approach with clients and is very active with them. He strives to get a complete understanding of the client so that he may better serve them. He loves continued communication and monitoring throughout the year to help stay informed of any changes in the client’s situation. This helps with the tax planning process so that information is received in a timely manner to mitigate any tax implications. Because of this approach, he is always readily available to clients and is extremely responsive to the client’s needs.
Mike joined Kilmer and Associates in 2009 and has continued to build upon his experience and knowledge as a CPA. Mike enjoys working with a variety of clients and situations and treats all clients with equality and professionalism. His professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA).
Outside of work, Mike is personally interested in all sporting activities and is actively involved in playing basketball, tennis, softball and weight lifting. Mike is also passionate about protecting the environment, supporting animal rescue, and spending time in the Outer Banks. Mike and his wife, Mary, live in Winchester, VA, with their cat, Kiki.

Aaron was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley just a few miles south of Winchester, Virginia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Information Systems along with a double major in Finance. Aaron became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 2006. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) since 2006.
With seven years of experience in Individual, Partnership, Corporation and Trust Taxation he has a reputation of providing close, personal attention to clients and being a vital partner in attaining their business and personal financial goals. He has a great deal of knowledge and experience in providing tax planning, tax preparation and consulting services to individuals and businesses with an emphasis in understanding the entirety of a client’s financial situation. This includes understanding and planning for the tax consequences of the business on the owners’ individual tax liability. Aaron has experience in providing management and advisory services to businesses such as budget preparation, variance reports, industry benchmarking and performance reports. In addition to his experience with business entities and individuals, he also has experience in Estate and Trust administration and tax preparation.
Aaron currently resides in Winchester, Virginia with his wife, Abbey, and daughters, Jasmine and Naomi. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys hiking, mountain biking and trying his hand at home improvement projects.

Mark A. McDaniel, Para-Professional
Born and raised in the Winchester area, Mark joined Kilmer and Associates in September 2011. With seven years of bookkeeping experience in public and private accounting, he is dedicated to providing clients with quality service. Mark is a member of the American Institute of professional bookkeepers (AIPB) and Round Hill United Methodist Church. He earned an Associate degree in Specialized Business in 2001 from the Center for Degree Studies at Penn Foster College.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Barbara, and granddaughter, Isabella. He also enjoys football, auto racing, and lighthouse history. Mark and Barbara reside in Winchester.

Beth A. Baker, Para-Professional
Beth performs full-service bookkeeping and payroll services. She also has a vast knowledge of Quickbooks. Beth is always willing to help clients and takes pride in providing accurate and timely service.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her sons, Jeremiah and Jesse. She also enjoys cooking, walking, sports and vacationing at the beach.

Catherine M. Kilmer, Administration
Cathie has been a part of Kilmer & Associates from its beginning in 1998 and serves as our office manager. Her duties include working with our staff in an administrative capacity making sure the daily operations of the office run smoothly as well as assisting our clients. If you have any questions or concerns she is always available to give you an answer or direct you to right person. Cathie strives to make sure each client is a satisfied client.
Outside of work Cathie enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. Her favorite family activities are vacation and Holidays when they are all together. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking, gardening and exercise. She also spends time volunteering in the community for organizations such as the Salvation Army, CCAP and as a mentor at a local elementary school. One of her greatest passions is helping people in need.
